Lisa Kawalec

When we are mindful, deeply in touch with the present moment, our understanding of what is going on deepens, and we begin to be filled with acceptance, joy, peace and love.”

Personal Message

I will use my playful passion for mindfulness meditation to encourage you to explore possibilities. I strive to embody the spirit of meditation through true presence and graceful acceptance of each moment. I aspire to motivate others to expand their awareness and connection to who they are and how they want to be. I will support you in growing and maintaining the wellness of your body, mind, and spirit.

I support my clients in growing and maintaining the wellness of their bodies, minds, and spirits.  I believe that the skills and insights gained through meditation apply to all people, in all stages of their lives. I have extended experience with teaching, parenting, caregiving, compassion practices, limiting self-beliefs, depression, and anxiety. I am happy to work with beginners and skilled practitioners alike. I welcome all students!

Biography

I began my regular practice of meditation over ten years ago. At that time, I felt like I was in a state of reaction more often than a state of purposeful action. I made the choice to find tools and practices that would help me align my head, heart, and actions. My practice has helped me stay in alignment more often, have awareness when I’m not, and find the right actions to get me closer to living with intention.

The years I spent as a Montessori directress set a solid foundation for understanding that my role as a guide is to set up a nurturing and safe environment for my clients to move at their own pace and have a truly personal experience. Have you ever witnessed the sheer presence and unconstrained way a child moves through life? Somewhere between childhood and adulthood, many of us lost our playfulness, curiosity, and joy for living. I can help you find that again through exploration of meditation and mindfulness practices.

I believe that understanding ourselves and our inner workings allows us to become more skillful and compassionate in the ways we engage with ourselves, our lives, and all those in it. In addition to being a meditation instructor, I am a meditation student. I am always learning more about the practice and myself.

Note from Calm Scholar

Since our first interaction with Lisa, we have been blown away. Lisa is a great coach and a brilliant communicator - she has a deep understanding of language, and how to choose her words to relate to whomever she is working with. Formerly a school teacher, Lisa’s meditation coaching began with teaching her students meditation and mindfulness. Her experience as a teacher shines through in her ability to meet people where they are at, and make learning effortless. Ultimately she came to realize the parents needed this work more than the students and she began her life as a full-time coach.

Lisa is a trauma-informed practitioner, and has a wide range of experience working with all kinds of people, including students, parents, veterans, corporate clients, and many others. Lisa has a way of making meditation easily accessible, while still connecting to the traditions and philosophy that support a lifelong practice.

We would recommend working with Lisa if you are looking to:

  • Bring greater mindfulness to your family, children, and other meaningful relationships

  • Deepen your understanding of the philosophy and lifestyle behind meditation to integrate your practice into every day life

  • Work through trauma and PTSD with a mindfulness-based approach

In addition, the U.S. Army Surgeon General has listed Yoga Nidra (based on research with iRest) as a Tier 1 approach for addressing Pain Management in Military Care. - from the iRest website.

No matter what pain and suffering you may be holding. I can help you hold and transform that pain through the practice of iRest. I also have extended experience with teachers, parents, and caregivers. I love to work with compassion practices, limiting self-beliefs, depression, and anxiety.
